Wet Areas Vegetation

Marshlands are a singular biome for both vegetation and fauna.

What is it?

A wet area in the Mediterranean area is more than an area with a lot of water. In general, water comes from rainfall but rainfall around the Mediterranean is scarce. Then, where does water in wetlands come from? From air humidity, from springs, from courses of water and even from the sea!

In this part, we will present Mediterranean marshlands, especially salty marshes where river and seawater meet. This mixture creates a singular biome home to many unique species that deserves special protection.
